Warranty
has become a serious subject; it's the difference between profit
and loss in a tight market. It's both a significant expense and
a compliance issue now with required reporting by the Securities
& Exchange Commission -- and, if you're in the automotive warranty
chain, mandatory filing according to the TREAD Act. It's enough
to make manufacturers say, "Take my warranty, please!"
What if a well-known
equipment manufacturer, a public company with its own in-house insurance
company, decided to launch an outsourcing service that would take
over the operations of a manufacturer's product warranty department?
All the risk transfers to them, along with all the data collection
and claims processing, which allows the manufacturer to focus on
manufacturing.
This month's
Warranty Week webinar features two architects of Caterpillar Insurance's
Original Equipment Manufacturer strategy, John
Richardson and Roger
Oaks. Join them, along with host Eric
Arnum, Editor of Warranty Week, as they discuss their OEM warranty
outsourcing service available for manufacturers on March 16th at
2:00 pm/et.
With a unique
background in financial solutions and familiarity with the needs
of construction equipment and engine manufacturers, Caterpillar
Insurance has identified a particular demand for warranty among
OEMs. Hear firsthand their knowledge of the marketplace and how
their experience with warranty can address OEMs' needs.
